The only suspect in October’s deadly sword attack at a Kuopio school has been transferred to Hämeenlinna Prison hospital for further treatment.
Twenty-four-year old Joel Marin was shot by police and injured during the attack at Savo Vocational College in Kuopio.
One woman was killed and another nine people injured as Marin allegedly went on a rampage with the sword after first starting a fire at the college, which is inside Kuopio’s Herman shopping centre.
On Thursday the National Bureau of Investigations confirmed that Marin has been moved from Kuopio to Hämeenlinna, and says their investigation of the incident is still ongoing.
The suspect faces numerous charges including murder and attempted murder. Police have until January 2020 to formalise the charges.
