Police in Helsinki are asking for the public’s help to track down a man they say is wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in the capital city region.
Up to 16 houses have been targeted this autumn in north Helsinki and Vantaa with thousands of euros of items stolen.
“The burglaries have mainly targeted valuable items such as jewelry and electronics. The total value of the property is tens of thousands of euros” says Detective Inspector Pertti Sovelius from Helsinki Police.
“Most of the items are still missing” he adds.
Police say they’ve caught one person in connection with the robberies but are looking for a possible accomplice, and want the public’s help.
The man they are looking for is a Romanian national who moved to Finland only in September, and lived mostly in Tikkurila in Vantaa.
The police have released a picture of the suspect in order to solicit leads from the public, and help track down the man, and the stolen property.
