Safety inspectors will be looking at glass roofs in 100 ABC service stations around the country, after an accident that left three people injured.
Last Friday the glass canopy at ABC in Kokkola partially collapsed. There were seven people on the terrace at the time, and three were injured when the glass shattered and fell on them.
“At the moment we don’t have any further data, of course we are very much going through the incident and gathering the data and already issued a survey to the whole chain that certain things have to be checked as soon as possible” says Harri Tuomaala, Director of the ABC chain.
“Almost each and every service station is a unique one, so there isn’t a concept element to include glass” in all the designs, Tuomaala tells News Now Finland, however he adds that there are about 100 service stations with restaurants and shops inside, and they would all be checked as a precaution.
