An elderly man has been seriously injured after a car crash on Wednesday morning.
It happened in Loimaa, which is in southwest Finland between Turku and Tampere.
Police say the car drove into the back of a truck, which was waiting at a bus stop for the road to be salted. Rescue service personnel say the road conditions were very slippery.
The elderly driver was injured in the high speed crash, and a helicopter came to airlift him to hospital. The road was closed for about an hour while the rescue operation took place.
Meanwhile a few kilometres away another crash involved two vehicles this morning, between Loimaa and Ypäjä. None of the occupants of the cars were seriously injured.
